When we started the New Room Conference more than a decade ago, we put a stake in the ground and raised a banner with three tiny Latin words: Sola Sancta Caritas. Translated, it means: “Only Holy Love.”
As we begin a second decade of gathering as an Awakening Fellowship, we think it is time to raise the banner again. This time it shall be: “Greater Love.”
Greatness doesn’t always come with size or virality. Often, greater love is shown in small, sacrificial ways. It’s not about size, but quality.
Much of our community gathers weekly in Bands, and at the start of each meeting, we pray the celebrated prayer for awakening from the third chapter of Paul’s letter to the Church at Ephesus. There is a curious and captivating phrase at the heart of the prayer: “And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, may have power . . .” (vv. 17–18).
The sequence is of paramount importance. The power of God comes from being rooted and established in the love of God. Though power rarely, if ever, leads to love, love always leads to power.
Throughout the three days of the 2024 Conference, we will be asking the question: “How might we become rooted and established in love?”
May it be said of New Room as is sung in the Song of Songs: “Let him lead me to the banquet hall, and let his banner over me be love” (2:4).
We would love for you to come and join us in that banquet hall this September.
My command is this: Love each other as I have loved you.
Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends.

Dear friends, let us love one another, for love comes from God.
Everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God.
We’ve reimagined our livestream experience into something new: local gatherings.
While we’d love for everyone to attend New Room in person, we understand that this isn’t always feasible. Local gatherings offer an opportunity for those unable to travel to Texas to still participate in the conference within their own community.
Instead of merely watching a feed from the main stage, our New Room team will host the online audience, guiding prayer, worship, and responses around plenary sessions.
New Room conference has always been a meeting with God and His people – a gathering of eager hearts seeking to encounter Him and sow for a Great Awakening.
If your heart is as ours, we hope you’ll join us.

In light of an increasingly secularizing, post-Christian culture, many churches have pursued a strategy of relevance over the last few decades. Yet, this approach has yielded limited results for the gospel. However, both the scriptures and the church’s history present an alternative approach, one that speaks of God’s ability to revive his people and awaken them to the power available in Him.
Could we be on the cusp of such a cycle of renewal, where the empty promises of secularism are proving insufficient, prompting many to seek something more? How might we align ourselves with God’s work in our time?

The newest Epic study is here! The hero? Judge and prophetess, Deborah, and her courageous commander, Barak.
In this pre-conference gathering, Sandy Richter will run us through the core of her new curriculum, asking the questions: “What is the territory that you can see from where you’re standing that you know belongs to the Kingdom of God, but is not yet in the hands of the people of God? Is it worth fighting for? And what are we going to do about it? Sandy will walk us through the real time and space of the era of Israel’s settlement, the structure of the book of Judges, and the profile of our heroine.
Be encouraged and strengthened by this story of courage and conquest that stands as a critical turning point for God’s people then and can serve as a critical turning point for God’s people now. The cast of characters is full of unlikely leaders. The crisis is insurmountable. The odds are impossible. And, yet, God shows up! This is a moment when the very real past of the people of God collides with the very needy present of the people of God, and forces us to ask ourselves the same question Yahweh asked of the Israelites: Is this territory worth fighting for? Or is it easier to just give up … and assimilate?”
Note: Session members will receive a free copy of Sandy’s new curriculum.
