Lent, the season of the descent of the Son of God to the Cross.
Gather with us for an evening of preparation for the 40 days—to get in step with the Holy Spirit together, to prepare for a season of fasting and repentance and joyful realignment with the mind of Jesus Christ.
Meet us at the summit of the Mount of Transfiguration where we will behold Jesus together, Listen to Him, and prepare to descend into the glorious valley of the Cross.
Again this year, we will make camp around the ancient text from the Prophet Joel:
“Even now,” declares the Lord,
“return to me with all your heart, with fasting and weeping and mourning.”
Rend your heart and not your garments.
Return to the Lord your God, for he is gracious and compassionate,
slow to anger and abounding in love, and he relents from sending calamity.

How to Watch
If you are wanting to play the livestream on your television through the YouTube app on Apple TV, Roku, or another Smart TV platform, this will be the best option for you. The Imposition of Ashes
There will be 5-7 minutes of prayer and worship during this part of the program. We suggest giving each participant their own ashes upon arrival and allowing everyone to impose ashes on themselves, either individually or within family groups who are safely, socially distanced. One idea is to distribute ashes in small plastic communion cups. We also suggest providing individual hand wipes.
We don’t expect that participants at home will source their own palm ashes. We believe we can hold the beauty and symbolism of this tradition while also holding grace for our current circumstances. This event is less about coming with the right supplies and more about posturing our hearts towards God. Some ideas for sourcing ashes from home:
- Rubbing the wick of a burned and cooled candle
- Gathering dirt or dust from the ground and mixing it with a little water
- Pre-burning match or small piece of paper
A word about hosting a gathering with your band, small group, or church community:
While the design of this event considers that many will be joining live from home, we welcome churches to assemble groups in person as well.
The evening will be a livestream event with worship, teaching, and prayer that can be accessed via smartphone, tablet, laptop or PC and can easily be projected onto a TV or projector. The evening will include prayer to be led live by our team.
Even though we welcome you to host a group, we still encourage you to have each and every person attending register through the link provided. This lets us know how many people we have in total attendance, as well as allows us to provide each participant with complimentary follow up materials and links to the talks should they for any reason miss a portion or would like to view them again.
