A Night with
Join us for a livestream meeting with God—a response to the call to "return to the Lord with all our hearts, with fasting and weeping and mourning."
Wednesday, February 17, 2021
6:00pm – 8:00pm CT
It's time for us to meet again.
It's time to repent and believe the Gospel.
It's time to humble ourselves in the sight of the Lord—
to confess, renounce and return with all our hearts.
Ash Wednesday will be more significant this year than in a generation. In the wake of 2 million deaths from a global pandemic, a polarized political nightmare that won’t stop, and deep unrest, injustice and pain across racial lines, it is time to engage the Lord at a new level; a deeper level. It is time to take our sowing for awakening to the next place of honesty and faithfulness before the Lord. We will make camp around the ancient text from the Prophet Joel:
“Even now,” declares the Lord,
“return to me with all your heart, with fasting and weeping and mourning.”
Rend your heart and not your garments.
Return to the Lord your God, for he is gracious and compassionate,
slow to anger and abounding in love, and he relents from sending calamity.
We will walk through seasons of repentance marked by confession, renunciation and returning to the Lord with ALL of our hearts, both personally and collectively. This is such an important moment in the life of the world, a moment to pivot from what has been to the awakening on the horizon.
Join us from your local church, covid conditions permitting, or from home, or from your car or wherever you can. We believe history will show this to have been a pivotal moment in our sowing for a great awakening.

The Imposition of Ashes
There will be 5-7 minutes of prayer and worship during this part of the program. We suggest giving each participant their own ashes upon arrival and allowing everyone to impose ashes on themselves, either individually or within family groups who are safely, socially distanced. One idea is to distribute ashes in small plastic communion cups. We also suggest providing individual hand wipes.
We don’t expect that participants at home will source their own palm ashes. We believe we can hold the beauty and symbolism of this tradition while also holding grace for our current circumstances. This event is less about coming with the right supplies and more about posturing our hearts towards God. Some ideas for sourcing ashes from home:
- Rubbing the wick of a burned and cooled candle
- Gathering dirt or dust from the ground and mixing it with a little water
- Pre-burning match or small piece of paper
A word about hosting a gathering with your band, small group, or church community:
Given the realities of Covid-19 we leave it up to each community with regard to whether they will physically gather in homes or at church facilities. We recommend that each group that physically gathers follow social distancing guidelines and use best practices given by local and national health officials.
That being said, we would love it if people would participate in the event together with their small group, staff, or community.
The evening will be a livestream event with worship, teaching, and prayer that can be accessed via smartphone, tablet, laptop or PC and can easily be projected onto a TV or projector. The evening will include prayer to be led live by our team. You will remain on the livestream for this portion of the evening as David Thomas and others guide us through prayer.
Even though we welcome you to host a group, we still encourage you to have each and every person attending register through the link provided. This lets us know how many people we have in total attendance, as well as allows us to provide each participant with complimentary follow up materials and links to the talks should they for any reason miss a portion or would like to view them again.
What if I can't watch live?
We know conflicts arise, but if you’ve registered it will be easy for you to view the entire evening at a later time! When you’re ready, just visit my.seedbed.com and log in (you would have created an account as part of your registration). Once logged in, you will see a link to A Night with New Room on your dashboard. The videos and other content will be posted as soon as possible after the event—most within 24 hours.
